Went to the Bastrop High School Back to School Bash this morning to play some songs with the band for the parents, students, University guests, etc.. The organizations included the following:
- Aggie Wranglers
- Phi Beta Sigma of Texas A&M
- Ballet Folklorico
- Texas A&M Admissions Rep.
- University of Texas Admissions Rep.
- Texas State University Admissions Rep.
- ACC Admissions Rep.
- Huston Tillotson Admissions Rep.
- BPA Information
- Batrop Lost Pines Bank
- BHS Varsity Football
Many more organizations were there, but I can only remember so many!
After we played, I had to get back to the band hall and put away my clarinet, then go back over to the football stadium and help out selling bear paw stickers (the bear is our school mascot) at the BPA Information booth with John Moore, Ms. Ford and two other members. John's Mum was interested in what we were doing this year, so she got the little black book and we decided E-Commerce still looked like a good idea; dunno how Jobeth got into it, but I believe she was at the Southwest Texas booth and I said hi and BAMM, she was part of the group. After long debating, sort of ;), we decided on this:
- John Moore - Database Designer/Maintainer
- Jobeth - Graphic Designer
- Me - Programmer
Jobeth is totally awesome when it comes to pixel art, and she might incorporate some of that skill into the design; she also might be buying my Wacom Graphire3 Tablet that I have been wanting to sell for a while, since I can't exactly draw very well 8).
I havent seen the work John has done before, but he does seem excited and willing to do what his job is, so he is going to be the balancing-force⢠between Jobeth and me. The only thing that needs to be taught to him is how to manage
MySQL through command line, since the server atm does not have X.org installed :)
My dad said he would do whatever needs to be done to get all the technology needed, so I told him the server needs upgrading.
Voila! I just ordered some new hardware and accessories, so here goes:
That should make the server run a lot better than it is now and also up the storage by a longgg shot!
Still need to finish The Scarlet Letter, so I better finish blogging and finish.

Back to School Bash
[…] So now that I have all of that straightened out, my grades are improving at my overall mental stability has increased with the lack of stress that I suffered from before and I can wipe my forhead clean of that sweat. I talked to Mrs. Ford today about the E-commerce team because it honestly wasn’t working at all. PHP isn’t a hard language to learn, but learning a programming language in 2 and a half weeks as well as MySQL, is more or less, impossible for someone new to programming and the concepts of it. Sorry guys/gals, but that isnt happening and you can deal with it, I already did. Mrs. Ford went over some other areas that I could enter in and we decided on Microsoft Network Administration; she gave me a test from last year and thats what she told me to turn into her tomorrow so she can see how I did. It is pretty easy and a lot of networking concepts and system administration of a Windows network is easy. Regional competition is about a week and a half from now in Seguin, TX. State competition is not too long after that, which is most likely in Arlington again. […]
