The folks at ACC were able to find a teacher for the U.S. History 2 class, a funny medieval professor who has taught at the University of Houston and another, who has never taught High School students, and in our case, we have never been in a college course! America: Past and Present is the book for the class, and it is a wonderful read, unlike the history books of High School. Why has this been confusing? Let me get on my soap box and explain: This has been a very stressfull, aggrevating and confusing first 3 weeks of school. My advice for Bastrop High School is this: Next time an ACC class is going to be offered, make sure there is a teacher available before you advertise the class, because this was ridiculous!

    3 Weeks of Confusion

[…] Want another reason I got a wake up call? I will not keep having sophmores in my math class making better grades than I am, even if I only make a marginal difference in their grades, I should always be making a better grade than they are because I should have more maturity and knowledge than they do. Slacking off is not the answer, even if I feel like, in the words of Bilbo Baggins, “butter stretched over too much toast.” The two hardest classes that I have are English 3 AP and Algebra 2 Pre-AP, thats it. Physics is easy because my teacher often ends up not teaching a thing because either a) the seniors have to leave for something stupid or b) we dont get through the notes because the seniors and the teacher wont stop talking and get distracted! Digital Graphics and Animation is just a tech class that I’m in because I needed the credit, I am in no way creative, I just have sudden bursts of creativity that go away as fast as they happen. U.S. History is over with for this year thanks to Austin Community College’s dual-credit course that I took with a professor during school, which we almost didn’t have. Psychology is in place this semester for what would have been Economics with ACC, but I thought I’d just give myself a break from college crap in high school, its really not worth the stress imo, but what the hell do other people at my school care or probably whoever is still reading this long rant of mine […]
